About Walter

Walter is an adorable 4-month-old puppy in search of a loving foster or forever home. As a Retriever/Shepherd mix, he’s at the prime of his socialization window, meaning he can thrive alongside other dogs, cats, and children with some patience and proper training. Walter currently resides in a shelter in Puerto Rico but is eager to explore life in the DC area. Walter requires dedicated humans who can attend to his socialization needs. Ideally, he would thrive with a resident dog or a family committed to regular walks, dog park visits, or doggie daycare. He has energy to burn and is excited to learn at dog school, promising loyalty and love in return. With age-appropriate vaccines, he’s on the way to being fully vaccinated, but remember, until he is, he has a higher risk of illness than an adult dog. He will also need some help with house training. Help Walter make this next transition easier. Click apply to start the adoption process.
