When Animal Control picked him up, he soon found himself in a crowded, high-kill shelter, with time running out. His heartwarming spirit caught our attention just in time, and we couldn’t let him slip away. Smokey’s rough past included a heartworm diagnosis, a result of living outdoors without proper care. Thankfully, he’s on the mend now and is ready to find the loving home he deserves. At around four years old, Smokey is polite, calm, and a well-behaved companion. His foster family praises his gentle nature and affection; he has not had a single accident indoors. Although he’s dog-friendly, Smokey carries a confident personality, so a home that can provide structure is ideal. From the streets to a cozy bed, Smokey’s journey reflects his enduring spirit.
