Socks is a young, playful male Labrador Retriever and mixed breed who weighs about 50 pounds. His large, charming personality is complemented by a long coat in black and brown. Socks is already house trained, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations, making him a wonderful addition to a loving home. He thrives best in a calm environment and is located in Mead, CO.

About Socks

Meet Socks. Socks is a 1-year-old, 50-ish lbs Lab/Shepherd mix who is beginning to trust that people can be wonderful. When he first arrived, Socks was terrified, flinching at touch and cowering in the tiniest hiding spots. He was skinny and had unfortunately landed on the euthanasia list at a high-volume shelter due to his anxiety. Fast forward, and Socks is learning to embrace a happier life. He’s gentle, smart, and polite. He enjoys the company of other dogs, benefiting from their confidence and guidance. Socks keeps his crate clean, loves his blankies and meals, and lights up when praised for being a good boy. Socks may not yet be a social butterfly, so he needs a patient family willing to provide a calm, predictable environment where he can thrive. He has shown amazing progress, taking treats from hands and beginning to seek affection. The journey of watching him come out of his shell has been nothing short of inspiring. Preferably, Socks would do best with an established, confident dog to help him continue building trust. After everything he's been through, he deserves the very best.
