Jethro is a handsome and sweet-natured 10-month-old Shar-Pei mix looking for a patient and loving family. At around 40 pounds, he’s an ideal medium-sized companion who loves to play indoors with squeaky toys or enjoy a good bone. His goofy nature will keep you entertained for hours. This gentle boy is still building his confidence around new adults, so he’ll need time to adjust in a new home. Once he feels safe, his warm personality shines through beautifully. He thrives in a calm environment and prefers to set his own pace. With supportive people, Jethro is already starting to come out of his shell. Jethro is fully house trained and content relaxing in his crate while his foster family is away. He enjoys leisurely neighborhood walks without pulling, and at home, he settles in nicely, enjoying his toys and sleeping soundly at night. He gets along wonderfully with the two large resident dogs in his foster home and would benefit from having a dog sibling around for companionship. Although he has not been tested with cats, his friendly demeanor suggests he could coexist well with them. He’s also lived with children aged 9 and 12 and is comfortable around them. However, due to his playful, mouthy nature, a home with older, dog-savvy kids who understand respectful boundaries would be ideal. While Jethro may bark when he hears unfamiliar sounds, he typically prefers to keep his distance and relax in his crate when strangers arrive. His perfect home is calm and loving, with adopters who can help him feel secure.
