About Prim
Meet Prim! Prim is a young herding-breed mix who’s ready to find her forever home after overcoming a rough start. She's cautious around new people and situations, so her ideal adopter should be patient and willing to earn her trust over time. Experience with fearful or reactive dogs will be beneficial, as Prim tends to be reactive when scared but never aggressive. She thrives with consistent, positive training and will need a gradual introduction process involving multiple meet-and-greets and possibly home visits before she feels comfortable. Prim excels with confident, friendly dogs and enjoys their company. She’s also been around cats and gets along well with them, although she does have a tendency to herd. This active girl needs an energetic family that can provide ample exercise, training, and enrichment activities to keep her engaged. Due to her separation anxiety, she does best in an environment with other dogs or people around. Although Prim is still refining her manners and can be jumpy or mouthy when excited, she would benefit from a home without young children. This lovely girl is looking for a long-term commitment, not a quick fix. With the right person, she has every opportunity to become a confident, happy dog. If you think Prim might be the right fit for your family, please be prepared to let her set the pace.
