About Hudson
Hudson wasn’t supposed to stay with me. Last October, he was one of the dogs riding along on a transport and was meant to be meeting his adopter at the end of the route. When we arrived, no one showed. After everything he had already been through, there was nowhere else for him to go — so Hudson came home with me. As we got to know him, it became clear that Hudson had spent years living in a home where domestic abuse was a constant part of life. Dogs carry that stress with them, and when he first arrived he was anxious, unsure, and struggling to trust the world around him. Over the months since, we’ve worked through a lot together. With time, consistency, and patience, Hudson has made incredible progress. The dog we see today is smart, deeply loyal, and exactly what you would expect from a Heeler once he bonds with his people. One thing that has always come naturally to Hudson is other dogs. He lives with my entire pack and fits in beautifully with everyone. A confident dog companion would likely help him continue to thrive. He has not been tested with cats. What Hudson needs now is a home that’s quieter and more predictable than our busy rescue environment. Our house is full of movement and dogs coming and going, and while he’s done well here, it isn’t the calm setting where he can truly relax and be his best self. Because Hudson is a Blue Heeler, experience with heelers or other herding breeds is important. These dogs are incredibly intelligent and devoted, but they do best with people who understand their instincts and need for structure. Hudson would do best in a home without children, with a steady routine, a dog buddy, and someone who appreciates the kind of loyalty these dogs give once they feel safe. We love this boy dearly. Now we just need to find the right home where his next chapter can begin. 🐾 8 year old male Blue Heeler 🐾 Dog friendly 🐾 Not cat tested 🐾 No kids 🐾 Experienced herding breed home required 🐾 Transport available
