About Victor
Victor is proof that the best dogs can come in the most unexpected packages. At just 1 year old and 18 pounds, he's an adorable mixed breed with the head of a Shepherd, the body of a Dachshund, and the tail of a Pekingese. This little guy is truly one-of-a-kind! His foster family has nothing but positive things to say about Victor. Initially timid, he quickly settled into his foster home, becoming comfortable and integrated within just a day. He absolutely adores other dogs and has bonded well with both a Shepherd and a Basset Hound. They play, wrestle, and enjoy games of chase together. To help nurture his confidence, a home with at least one other friendly dog is ideal. Victor is housebroken, crate trained, and leash trained, making him nearly a turn-key dog. He walks well on a leash, especially when following his dog pals, and barks very little, only getting excited during play or when spotting another dog. He has met cats and mostly ignores them, but if a cat runs, he might chase after in play, showing no aggression. This sweet boy has been gentle with his foster family's 9-year-old child. While he can be jumpy with excitement, he is overall very sweet. He does have a playful side, enjoying socks, slippers, and toys, but his foster family is careful to keep tempting items out of reach. Medium-energy and social, Victor loves to sniff around the yard and be part of the action. Although he may need a moment to warm up to new people, once he knows you, he seeks you out for affection. His foster put it best: “Super easy. If you need a turn-key dog, this is the one.” Victor is neutered and ready for his forever family, ideally one that will shower him with love and possibly include a dog sibling to hang out with.
