About Steve
Steve is a 12-pound Dachshund mix with a sweet, easygoing nature. He came to rescue after being found alone and quickly charmed everyone with his gentle spirit. Steve has been fully vetted, neutered, and is now living pain-free after much-needed dental and medical care. He has limited hearing—he reacts to some loud sounds, but generally needs non-verbal communication and special attention to his safety. Steve gets along well with dogs and cats, and he forms quick bonds with both animals and people. He’s well-mannered, house and crate trained, not a jumper or licker, and accepts correction well. He enjoys walks, loves spending time outdoors, and especially thrives with companionship; being left alone makes him anxious, so he’ll do best in a home where someone is often around or there’s another compatible dog. Steve is not destructive and only voices his needs when he’s lonely or alerting you to strangers. Despite his age, he matches the energy of younger dogs and is always willing to be part of the fun. This older gentleman is ready to be someone’s loyal friend, offering trust and affection freely. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
