Meet Cooper, your 26-pound shadow, snugglebug, and part-time chipmunk hunter. This handsome 9-year-old Cocker Spaniel embodies loyalty and devotion. He's the kind of dog who doesn’t just want to be near you—he wants to be right there beside you. Whether you're on the couch or heading out for the day, Cooper is eager to tag along, convinced that wherever you are is where he belongs. Cooper came to us after his previous family brought home a much larger dog, and he wasn't able to communicate his boundaries effectively. Now, he’s thriving in a loving foster home where he's shown to be incredibly sweet and easygoing. Want to go for a car ride? Great! Lounge on the couch? Absolutely! He even keeps a keen eye on those chipmunks and believes one day he'll catch one. Cooper coexists harmoniously with the three cats in his foster home, acknowledging them as the true bosses. He gets along with people, including men, women, and older kids, although he may need some extra patience in adjusting to younger children. Housebroken, he rarely barks and is unfazed by the everyday chaos of life. He knows basic commands like sit, wait, and leave it, and is learning “down.” Although he underwent dental work recently, needing continued monitoring for his remaining teeth, Cooper isn’t on any regular medications. He prefers to sleep close to his humans, either at their side or snuggled next to them in bed. Cooper is looking for a family that will appreciate his affectionate nature and help him navigate his anxiety about being left alone. If you're seeking a loyal companion to follow you around, take leisurely backyard explorations, or just enjoy quiet cuddles on the couch, Cooper would love to meet you.
