Although not completely house trained, he's pee-pad trained and crate trained. Chance is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, making him a healthy little boy. He's learning about the world and has a playful spirit, ready to bond with a patient family in Verona, NJ.

Meet Chance, our delicate little lovebug looking for a forever home. Just over a year old and weighing around 10 pounds, Chance has faced more than most dogs ever should. Once abandoned at a high-kill shelter after his breeder passed, this once-neglected pup has been through a lot. After receiving the care he needed—being fully shaved, vetted, vaccinated, and neutered—he’s now in a loving foster home where his true personality is beginning to shine. Chance wants to trust again, but he needs to learn that humans can be gentle and kind. He may show initial anxiety toward touch or sudden movements, but he’s making remarkable progress. With a little patience and understanding, you can watch him start to relax and enjoy life. This playful pup loves treats, toys, and even has a fun habit of stealing socks, which has inspired a special toy just for him. Chance enjoys curling up near his foster family and quietly observing their activities. He’s starting to learn about life outdoors in a gentle way, and while he’s not fully housebroken yet, he’s achieving great strides in his training, being fully pee-pad trained and crate trained. Chance needs a calm home with patient, gentle humans who can celebrate his every little victory. He gets along well with other dogs and loves toys, so a playful environment would be perfect for him.
