About Chief
Chief is a lovable, slightly chubby senior dog who embodies the grumpy old man persona with charm. He enjoys lounging on his blanket, conserving energy for those rare moments when he feels like giving a raspy barkโa gentle warning that he's tired. Walks on a leash are a breeze for him, and while he isnโt overly affectionate, the joy he finds in treats is undeniable. Watch him catch treats mid-air with impressive skill! When given wet food, he allows full handling and devours it as if he knows how precious and uncertain food can be. This sweet soul appears to be longing for his person; heโs experienced loss and feels it deeply, which makes the shelter environment particularly tough on him. Unfortunately, Chief does not get along with other dogs and would do best in a quiet, adult-only home, or as a hospice foster where he can feel secure and loved, enjoying his golden years. Despite some challenges, he has shown potential for comfort and companionship beyond the shelter walls. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
