Dora is a spayed female mixed-breed puppy who is just 2 months old. Her coat is black, and she falls into the small size range. She's currently located in Wheeling, IL and is vaccinated with her core vaccines up to date. Dora is still learning to be house trained, so patience and positive reinforcement will help her adjust.

About Dora

Dora is a lively puppy currently in a foster home, and you can meet her at our adoption event at PetSmart in Mount Prospect (101 E. Euclid Ave.) on Saturday, September 5th, from 10 AM to 12 PM. Applications can be submitted through our website, or interested parties can email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org for more details. She arrived from rural Alabama with her mom and sisters and has been learning from her older, more experienced dog friends in her foster home. Dora is adventurous and enjoys playtime, whether it’s joining a playgroup or investigating new objects. As a baby puppy, she is still mastering the basics like housebreaking and leash skills. She would thrive with puppy classes to continue her training. If you provide the right guidance, Dora will grow into a loyal and playful companion for years to come. Dora is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. Do note, she will need a rabies vaccine when she turns four months and a Heartworm test between six to seven months at your vet's. Expect to invest time in her training, especially with positive reinforcement methods, to help her thrive. Your new best friend is just one click away.
