Chester is a large, male domestic short hair cat, weighing about 17.7 lbs. He is a 13-year-old senior with a gentle nature and enjoys companionship. Recently neutered, Chester is vaccinated and ready for his forever home. Located in New York, NY, he’s looking for someone who will appreciate and care for him throughout his golden years.

About Chester

Chester is a striking ginger cat with a gentle demeanor, calling for attention as he stands by his kennel door. He’s a big fellow, tipping the scales at about 17 pounds, and while he enjoys treats, he currently feels a bit overwhelmed in the busy shelter environment. Chester lost his owner and now needs a loving home to call his own. He was quick to show affection, immediately head-bobbing against a volunteer's hand when approached. Despite some anxiety in the shelter, he leans into affection and responds well to calm voices and gentle petting. At 13 years old, Chester is a senior cat with glaucoma in both eyes and requires regular veterinary care. However, he has proven to be a sweet companion, remaining calm when picked up and easily engaging with visitors. He craves attention, calmly soliciting pets while softly purring. Chester is ready to settle into a loving home where he can receive the care and affection he deserves. If you feel your heart open to him, come meet Chester at the Manhattan Care Center!
