About Lilypad

My foster writes: If you're looking for a sweet and gentle companion with big soulful eyes, look no further than Lilypad. Lilypad's favorite place to be is curled up right next to you. Lilypad warmed up quickly to her foster home and with each day wanted more love and affection. She likes lots of pets, chin scratches, and being brushed. The more you get to know Lilypad, the louder her purr will become. Her big eyes make her look a little sad sometimes, but Lilypad is very content spending her day curled up snoozing on the couch. She is very quiet, and her 'meow' that she greets you with when you come home is really more of a little squeak. What my friends at ACC say about me: Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. Lilypad is laying in the back of her cubby in a loaf position as the assessor approaches, front paws tucked under her chest. When the cubby door is opened, she observed the assessor with wide eyes and dilated pupils, body slightly tense. Lilypad is tolerant of all petting, leaning in slightly and closing her eyes when she is pet on the head and cheeks. Lilypad is unable to be coaxed forward from the back of her cubby, so she is unable to be fully picked up. She is tolerant of light, upward pressure under her chest and on her sides without issue. Lilypad tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. A volunteer writes: Peering out at Adoptions with her deeply soulful eyes, Lilypad seems to just be waiting for things to happen to her, embodying Eeyore and breaking my heart in the process. Lilypad was brought to us with another cat when her guardian couldn't bring them along and Lilypad seems to be diligently searching for some optimism to carry her through the long shelter days. When I opened her condo door, Lilypad quietly hopped into the cubby, likely hoping that I wouldn't notice her except that Lilypad really needs someone to do just that. Though she wasn't looking for pets from me, her previous guardian shared that she's friendly and likes to be kissed and given treats. All she needs now is a little chance, so please if you could share one with her. Primary Color: Tabby Weight: 5.45lbs Age: 6yrs 6mths 1wks Animal has been Spayed
