About Gambit

Meet Gambit! Gambit is a 1.5-year-old, 36-pound neutered cattle dog mix from El Paso. This handsome boy has been waiting over 175 days for someone to give him a chance. He has a big personality and a playful heart, but shelter life has stressed him out. Although he can be reactive when feeling overwhelmed in his kennel, once he’s out, you’ll see the real Gambit. This clever guy is treat-motivated and loves his ball, which has helped staff earn his trust. He’s started to recognize his favorite people and showers them with affection. Gambit adores attention, gives kisses, and his playfulness grows as his confidence increases. He’s done well in playgroups with other dogs, proving he can be social and enjoy the company of canine friends. Gambit seeks a patient family who understands that solid relationships take time. If you give him the chance to decompress and introduce him to new people and pets slowly, he’ll reveal his true self. There’s a special dog waiting to emerge from all that kennel stress. Could you be the one to help Gambit start his next chapter?
