About Nelson
Nelson is a 28 lb, blocky dynamo with unmistakable charm and a giant grin that matches his big personality. DNA says Pit Bull/Cattle Dog/Fox Terrier mix, so it’s no surprise he’s sharp and never boring. Nelson loves work and play—he thrives with a routine involving both mental and physical outlets. After a year and a half in a family, he's back with the rescue because things didn’t click with one of the kids: Nelson doesn’t tolerate hugs or cuddles, especially while he’s resting. He’ll give warnings but has never delivered a true bite. He has manners thanks to his board-and-train; he’s fully e-collar trained and has done well in structured daycare. Nelson would benefit from someone comfortable with e-collars, or open to learning (the rescue’s trainer offers support). He gets along with friendly, balanced dogs and would love a canine companion at home. Nelson was originally found wandering, and after nobody came for him at the shelter, a rescue partner gave him a shot—now he’s hoping for someone who gets him. He’s compact, engaging, loyal, and needs the right leadership to thrive. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Nelson
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Nelson’s Cattle Dog/Terrier mix background means he thrives in a home where he can get plenty of interaction, structure, and activities. He’s best suited for an environment with adults or older children who understand dog cues.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Nelson would appreciate access to a secure yard or regular outdoor adventures since his mix has working breed energy. Daily walks and lots of playtime help keep him balanced.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Nelson's breed mix can do well with dog-savvy children who respect boundaries, but in Nelson’s case, he shouldn’t go to a home with young kids due to his discomfort with cuddling and handling while resting.
