About Ernie
Ernie is ready for a loving home starting after September 1. At about 5 to 6 years old, he is a Rottweiler who weighs just under 80 pounds and is still gaining some much-needed weight. Once a stray, Ernie arrived dirty and underweight, with scabby skin and irritated eyes. Thanks to proper care and good nutrition, he's bouncing back nicely. He started off shy, but once Ernie decides someone is part of his circle, he shows them plenty of affection. You'll often find him relaxing at your feet, perfectly content after sharing some quality time with you. Ernie generally gets along well with other dogs, keeping his space tidy in the kennel. However, he does not get along with cats, having been alert and growling during his visit to the cat room. Ernie is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, and up to date on his vaccinations. He has also been dewormed and placed on monthly flea/tick prevention. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
