Meet Pecan! She stands out with her mix of goofiness and shyness, proudly showing her unique personality. A graduate of the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center, Pecan is a resilient soul who came to the center as a fearful stray. Gradually, she’s learned to trust, and now loves her time outside—whether it’s enjoying long, sniff-filled walks, exploring a fenced yard, or splashing through water. After a day of adventures, she’s content to relax nearby and recharge. During her time in a foster home, Pecan revealed her playful side, engaging happily with resident dogs, chasing them around until they were all tired. She was also respectful of the resident cats, knowing when to give them space and when to invite them to play. Pecan may take a moment to warm up to newcomers and prefers to approach at her own pace. Once she feels secure, she seeks out pets and affection, often leaning in for more and enjoying grooming sessions along with her fellow dogs. She’s looking for a patient home that understands her need for space and helps her continue to boost her confidence.
