Heway is a happy, goofy, and energetic young dog looking for an active family to call his own. At just over a year old, he has plenty of zest for life and loves everyone he meets. His curiosity and intelligence make him a joy to be around, especially when playtime rolls around. He gets along well with other dogs and even lives with cats, although he respects their boundaries when they aren't in the mood to play. Though Heway adores people, he may be a bit overwhelming for very young children, so a home with kids aged 8 and older would suit him better. This little powerhouse is treat-driven and knows his basic cues, but he could use some help with leash manners, as he tends to pull. He thrives on companionship, so a family that enjoys walking and outdoor adventures would be ideal. Heway suffers a bit from separation anxiety, so he hopes to find a home where he won’t be left alone for extended periods. One of Heway’s favorite pastimes includes chewing on heavy-duty toys, especially squeaky ones, and a game of tug-of-war is always a hit.
