About Basalt
Basalt, born on January 16, 2022, is a spirited and loving 50 lb mixed Labrador. She boasts a stunning black coat accented by a unique white marking on her chest that resembles the "Bethlehem star." After undergoing heartworm treatment, she's now in great health and up to date on all her vaccinations. This affectionate girl thrives on belly rubs and treats. After settling into her foster home with Daisy, a 20 lb Rat Terrier, Basalt has become playful and snuggly, making herself comfortable on the sofa or next to her foster mom. She loves to engage with toys, especially getting the stuffing out of them. Calm indoors, she enjoys resting with her toys and watching the world outside. Basalt adapts well to new environments. She knows basic commands and demonstrates commendable leash manners. Though she enjoys her outdoor time, her preference leans toward being indoors. Given that she experiences some separation anxiety, she uses training pads when left alone for more than three hours. She does well in car rides, jumping in without hesitation and waiting patiently for her cue to go. This gentle creature has made significant strides in socializing, having learned to accept new dogs and people without barking aggressively. Basalt will make an excellent companion for those looking for a playful and loving fur friend. Ready to bring joy to your life? Apply to adopt Basalt today!
