AvailableNemo is a large male dog who is still young and full of vibrant energy, perfect for an active home. He has a short coat and is friendly with other dogs. While not yet neutered and vaccinations are pending, he is eager to please and motivated by treats. Currently located in Petersburg, VA, Nemo is looking for a loving family to help him grow and thrive. It's worth noting he hasn’t been around cats or children yet.
About Nemo
Nemo is a young male pit hound mix, standing out with his white coat and dark patches over both eyes. His long legs and loose stride reflect that he's still maturing and has some filling out to do. He came to us as an owner surrender with his dad, Marlin. While they're good together, Nemo can thrive independently. He's friendly with other dogs, which opens the door for more potential homes compared to many dogs in similar situations. Nemo is working on building his confidence. He loves to greet people, especially when approached gently. With the right home that allows him to take his time, he'll continue to gain self-assurance. Having another steady dog could help him even more. He understands the command 'sit' and is treat-motivated, making training enjoyable. At about a year old, he possesses a lot of energy typical of hounds. Nemo needs an active family that will engage him through walks and training—he's not a couch potato. His history doesn't include exposure to cats or children, so slow introductions would be best if you're interested in those environments. To meet Nemo, appointments are recommended to ensure someone is available to help. The shelter operates Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 4 PM, with possible arrangements at other times.
