About Mabel
Mabel is an 8-year-old Golden Retriever mix who spent far too much of her life neglected and forgotten. She was raised outside, used for breeding, and ultimately discarded when she could no longer serve a purpose. When she arrived at the shelter, she was in a poor state—dusty and hurt, suffering from arthritis and heartbreak. However, hope emerged when our rescue stepped in to give her a chance at the love she had never really known. Now in a loving foster home, Mabel is slowly healing. Her journey of recovery has shown her that not only can she trust humans, but she can also embrace the joy of being a dog. This Velcro Retriever has a sweet personality and loves to follow her foster mom around, soaking up every bit of affection. Mabel has even started playing with her foster sibling, rediscovering the joy of companionship. Though she is deaf, Mabel is incredibly intelligent and has learned hand signals to communicate. She is sensitive to change, so she requires a stable environment where she can feel secure and loved. This girl thrives on affection and doesn't bark or create chaos—she's content to simply be near her humans. What she needs now is a forever home where she can relax, be herself, and truly be cherished. After eight years of giving and receiving so little, Mabel deserves to know what it feels like to be someone's beloved pet.
