Loki
AvailableLoki is an adorable senior Labrador Retriever mix who weighs 99 lbs. He has been neutered and is up to date on vaccinations. A friendly companion, he loves being around people, making him a joy to have at home in Des Moines, IA. His playful spirit makes him a great candidate for adoption!
About Loki
Loki recently joined a Dog's Day Out field trip and had an enjoyable time with his human companions, who described him as a sweet boy full of slobbery kisses. He loved playing with tennis balls, darting around with joy, and even took care of a pup cup quickly. His curiosity about nearby dogs didn't phase him; he was easily redirected and seemed to take everything in stride. This lovable guy enjoys cuddling and spending time with his people, even if he doesn't quite understand the concept of personal space yet. Loki is up for anythingโwhether it's lounging with you or heading out for an adventurous hike. He has a knack for sticking his head out the car window and loves splashing around in the water. He knows the command to sit and is incredibly food motivated, making him a great listener and a fun training candidate. It appears he is housetrained, but remember that every dog may need time to adjust to new routines. He enjoys walks and does best in a harness. In his foster home, he made excellent progress with his leash manners, and also did well in a crate. Because Loki can be uncomfortable around other dogs and should be the only one in his home, a mature setting is recommended, especially since young, noisy, or busy children might be too much for him. If you're interested in giving Loki a loving home, he's part of the 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. Reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org for details. This sweet boy is waiting for his perfect match!
