Meet Winnie, a resilient little soul ready for her forever love. This one-year-old, 7-pound Shih Tzu embodies the spirit of a survivor. Not too long ago, Winnie faced a heartbreaking betrayal, tossed out of a car at a grocery store. Confused and frightened, she tried to chase after the only people she knew, but they left her behind. Thankfully, a good Samaritan rescued her from that dire situation. Winnie’s matting was so severe that she required sedation at the vet to be shaved and bathed. Once cleaned up, the true Winnie emerged: a beautiful little girl with a heart of gold. In just a few weeks, Winnie has shown immense progress and proved to be an incredible companion. She is house trained and actively learning how to go potty outside, with her foster family confident that it will fully click soon. Winnie is also excellent on a leash, making walks an absolute delight. She currently lives with two other dogs and gets along great with them. True to her breed, she thrives on attention, exploring her surroundings, and bringing joy to her humans with her friendly and affectionate nature. Winnie is a fan of car rides, surprisingly unfazed by her past trauma. She behaves beautifully in the car, making her the perfect companion for errands or road trips. However, she does have some apprehension about being crated, likely due to her previous experiences. With patience and love, she’s bravely working through her fears.
