About Cheese
Cheese is a one-and-a-half-year-old Boxer/Pointer mix with a streak of hard luck in his young life—adopted as a puppy, he’s bounced back to the shelter three times. That instability has given him some separation anxiety, but it’s also shown how much he craves stability and a real commitment from his next family. For all he’s been through, Cheese remains happy, social, and comically goofy. His signature underbite just adds to his charm, and his playful energy can light up the room. He forms strong connections with his people and needs someone who can offer consistency, structure, and patient guidance. Cheese is intelligent and responds well to positive training; he already knows "sit" and works hard for treats. He does best with routine exercise and thrives with clear expectations. Due to a high prey drive, he’s not a fit for homes with cats. He’s met plenty of other dogs at the shelter and does well, so a canine companion could suit him. Mostly, Cheese needs someone prepared to invest time and love into helping him settle—he’ll give that love right back and more. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
