About Owen
Owen is a 10-year-old senior gentleman who has discovered that life is much better when it includes a soft bed, a loving human, plenty of naps, and someone to follow around. This sweet boy came to us as a stray from an LA shelter. Initially nervous, he has settled beautifully into his new life, revealing more of his charming personality every day. Owen is a master of relaxation. He is incredibly mellow, enjoying nothing more than curling up near his person for a nap. He takes his professional napping role seriously, sometimes dozing off right on the veterinary exam table! His calm demeanor makes him an ideal companion for anyone seeking serenity and affection. Adapting well to sharing his space with three cats, Owen treats them as mere furniture. He’s been a trooper getting the care he needed, including baths and eye drops, believing that treats and attention improve any medical procedure. Owen loves leisurely walks and meeting neighborhood pups. He takes his time exploring, although he is blind in one eye and has limited vision. His person should help him navigate curbs and obstacles safely. At home, he’s perfectly content just being part of your routine, whether supervising in the kitchen or following you around. We’ve been working on house training and crate training for nighttime, and he’s progressing remarkably well. With patience, he’s even learning to use the dog door! Every day, it’s rewarding to see Owen become more relaxed and at ease. He has so much love to offer and is happiest by your side. If your ideal companion is someone for leisurely walks, quiet afternoons, and plenty of couch naps, Owen may be your perfect match.
