Doogie was named after Doogie Howser, M.D., the brilliant teenage doctor from the ’90s. Unfortunately, our Doogie appears to have inherited absolutely none of his namesake’s intelligence. What he lacks in brain cells, he makes up for in good looks, sweetness, and pure goofy joy. Doogie is an estimated 1-year-old Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix with beautiful golden freckles, golden-dipped ears, and the softest fur. He’s a big, happy puppy who LOVES other dogs, kids, toys, chew bones, long walks, cuddles...and stealing everyone’s shoes. And then there are SNACKS. If Doogie could talk, it would basically be: “Is that a snack? Do you have snacks? When is snack time? Can I have that snack?” Luckily, his love of food should come in handy with training! Doogie is still a puppy in a big-dog body, so his forever family should be ready for some teething, jumping, and continued potty training. Basic obedience classes will be important to help this lovable goofball learn some manners. He does well in his crate overnight and will settle when left after a little protesting. He’s also great on a leash and would love an active family to take him on adventures. Doogie is a dog who really needs another playful dog in the home and one who could help teach him how to respect boundaries. He also prefers to be by his humans as much as possible and gets a little anxious when they aren’t around, so a family who is home often is preferred. Doogie may be a few brain cells short of a genius, but he has an enormous heart and a freckled face that could melt you. With some training and patience, this gorgeous, sweet, hilarious boy is going to be an incredible best friend. Doogie is ready for his forever family. And also a snack...definitely a snack.
