About Xander
Meet Xander, a 1-year-old, 76 lb. German Shepherd mix in San Diego, CA. He’s a strikingly handsome boy with a sweet and affectionate personality. If you're looking for a loving companion to keep you company, Xander is eager to be by your side and share cuddles. Currently thriving in his foster home, Xander shows he’s smart and keen to learn. He’s potty trained and behaves well on his own. He’s making solid progress with basic commands like “sit” and “down,” although he still needs reminders to keep all paws on the floor instead of jumping up on counters and doors. A patient adopter to help him with his manners will do wonders. Xander is great with other dogs and enjoys walks. He’s a wonderful leash walker and loves exploring the outdoors. He’s also an excellent travel buddy, settling nicely in the car and enjoying the view. When it comes to food, Xander is very eager, particularly during mealtime. He is not aggressive, but his excitement means he shouldn’t be disturbed while eating. Overall, a home with older children who understand the need for space during meals would be best. This big, loving boy has so much potential and is ready to be part of a family that can help him grow. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and looking for a patient and understanding owner.
