Meet Aki! At the wise age of 9 years, this very young German Shepherd Dog/Husky mix found his way to the rescue when his owner moved and couldn’t take him along. Aki embodies typical GSD behavior; he’s friendly but prefers when introductions happen at his pace. Crowding or forcing interaction makes him uncomfortable, but if you sit down and let him come to you, he’ll gladly accept affection. While Aki is not fond of other dogs and can be dominant, he responds well to gentle corrections from people. It’s clear he’s a smart boy, capable of learning whatever his new family wishes to teach him. He would thrive best in a home without any other dogs.
