This little man is very timid and currently quite stressed and scared. He is also very head-shy, so he will need a patient family who understands that trust takes time. Peanut would do best in a calm, peaceful home where he can decompress at his own pace and learn that he is safe. Peanut has previously lived with both dogs and cats, so he has experience sharing his home with other furry friends. In his previous home, he also wore a diaper, so adopters should be prepared to continue working with him on his individual needs and routine. Underneath all that fear is a little dog who deserves someone willing to go slowly, respect his boundaries, and celebrate the small steps as he gains confidence. At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals! We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.
