About Zakk Wylde

Zakk Wylde is a striking 7-year-old, 46-pound Chow with a big personality and an even bigger love for his toys. He is housebroken, well-behaved, and affectionate, enjoying ear and chin scratches but not excessively needy. After a challenging experience at animal control, Zakk needs an owner who understands canine communication and respects his boundaries. He did most of his growing up as an only dog, so he can be selective about his canine companions. While he doesn't typically seek conflict, he may become grumbly if another dog crowds him. He’s shown improvement while living with foster dogs, but time will tell if he can thrive in a multi-dog household. Zakk's ideal home would be with experienced, Chow-savvy individuals who allow him to adjust at his own pace without too much pressure. A quieter environment where he can avoid constant dog interactions might suit him best. He brings a lot of fun into his life—jumping up at the window to watch the world go by and relishing his toys with glee. You won’t need to 'fix' Zakk; just understand him. He seeks someone who won’t punish him for expressing discomfort and will thoughtfully introduce new experiences. In return, you get a loving, playful companion who thinks every day is an opportunity for playtime. Zakk is ready for a home that embraces his uniqueness and lets him thrive as the adorable goofball he is. Zakk is currently being fostered in Orlando, FL, with transport options available.
