About Cowboy

Meet Cowboy, a charming little guy around four years old. He's neutered, fully vaccinated, and currently receiving treatment for heartworm, which he'll follow up with rehab as part of the CARE Paws Prison Training Program. Cowboy is a delightful mix with a low, long body and short legs, making him irresistibly adorable. He gets along well with other dogs and, while he's gentle around children, he doesn't mix well with cats, having shown a keen interest in them during a recent sleepover. He enjoys lounging in soft chairs or his crate, and his easygoing nature means he loves being petted and having his belly rubbed. Cowboy quickly learned how to use the doggie door and has shown no accidents indoors. He's crate trained, knows how to sit, and doesn't jump up on you, making him a good companion. There were some challenges with his appetite and medication, but he’s now adjusted well. Cowboy adds his bark to the mix when other dogs do, but he’s not an excessive barker, preferring to relax indoors. Soon, he'll complete his heartworm treatment and be ready for a furever home.
