Sloane
AvailableSloane is a 4-year-old female cat, possibly a mix of Domestic Short Hair and Siamese. She is small and has a beautiful white and gray coat. Sloane is house trained and spayed. She has settled into care at Thistle Cat Rescue & Sanctuary in Herrin, IL. While she is comfortable with other cats, she thrives in a low-stress environment.
About Sloane
Sloane is a gentle and sensitive girl who has faced more upheaval than any cat should. Found wandering alone in a local park, she was taken to animal control, where time often runs short for shelter animals. Initially misidentified as male and named Ruben, Sloane's true identity surfaced at her neuter appointment when it was discovered she is actually a spayed female. Her journey has not been easy. After her unexpected surgery, Sloane became withdrawn and stopped eating. With patience and quiet affection, she began to trust again. Though she now resides in a comfortable bedroom with a garden view, adjusting to change is still challenging for her. She enjoys gentle pets and the occasional attention but isn't ready to seek it out. Sloane needs a very calm home, ideally suited for an older individual or someone familiar with building trust over time. She should be in an environment with no children and minimal other animals. This lovely blue-eyed cat has the potential to be a devoted companion with the right support. If you think you can provide her with a safe haven, we would love to connect with you.
