Banjo is a 4-year-old, small male Shih Tzu located in Newberg, OR. He is neutered and has up-to-date vaccinations. Although heโ€™s currently facing some challenges, with care and a nutritious diet, heโ€™s on a path to gaining weight and strength.

About Banjo

Meet Banjo! This charming 4-year-old Shih Tzu is seeking a loving forever home where he can gain strength and confidence. Banjo arrived with some challenges. He was underweight and experiences weakness and wobbliness (ataxia) in his back legs. After thorough veterinary examinations, it appears thereโ€™s no immediate pain or significant abnormalities in his spine or legs, but his weakness may stem from nerve involvement or previous nutritional deficiencies. At present, Banjo is on gabapentin to manage any discomfort and is on a higher-calorie diet to support weight gain and muscle development. He is engaging in gentle exercises and short, controlled walks to help strengthen his hind legs. While heโ€™s not in pain, he needs a calm environment free from rough play and large groups of dogs until he builds his strength. This sweet boy requires some extra care and patience, but heโ€™s ready to find his special person who will provide the TLC he needs. Click apply to start the adoption process.
