About Mateo
Meet Mateo, a remarkable four-year-old Cairn Terrier who has not let a recent hind leg amputation slow him down. This sweet boy came to us from the SF Shelter, and despite the odds, he navigates life on three legs with ease. He runs joyfully, hops up for pets, and has already mastered commands like 'sit' in under five minutes. Mateo is house and crate trained, making him a wonderful companion. His charming personality is complemented by a deep bark that gives him a unique presence and makes him the perfect miniature security system. He tends to be a bit shy at first, but warms up as he gets to know you. At a compact 20 pounds, he's the ideal size for both adventures and cozy cuddles. Mateo currently lives with another small dog and may need some initial patience with larger dogs to build his confidence. He enjoys car rides and loves resting his paw on your hand as you drive, a sweet gesture showing his bond. Mateo is eager for a loving home where he can continue to thrive and explore life. His adoption fee is $200. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and letβs get started.
