About Pickles
Pickles is on the lookout for a new foster or foster-to-adopt situation, ideally without young children, as they tend to make him nervous. When he first came to the rescue, he was understandably shut down, taking time to exit the car. Luckily, he warms up quickly and loves being around his people, often following them from room to room. While he generally ignores strangers, he becomes a bit defensive when they engage with him, backing up and barking if they make eye contact. Pickles thrives on playtime, especially with balls and stuffies. He responds well to his name and has a strong recall, although he's currently on a long line just to be safe. Interestingly, he shows no interest in chasing bikes or cars and remains calm even when the neighbor's dog barks at him through the fence. Curiously, he's intrigued by dog-savvy cats and seems to lack a strong prey drive. He watches deer and small critters outside without any urge to chase.
