Yukon is a spirited 10-month-old Heeler mix ready to find his forever home. Weighing around 40 lbs, Yukon is full of life and has a playful personality that makes him a joy to be around. He came back to rescue due to food aggression, but he's shown that with the right environment and care, he can thrive. Currently in a foster home with seven other dogs, he’s been doing well and learning to socialize under supervision. While he can be protective of his food, he’s been easily corrected and gets along wonderfully with his furry housemates. Yukon adores kids and sees himself as a lap dog despite his size, always eager for snuggles and playtime. He knows how to kennel up and is making great progress with his potty training. He has a gentle demeanor and displays moments of submission, especially when settling into new surroundings. Despite facing some health challenges with Lyme disease, he’s currently receiving treatment and is symptom-free. Yukon is looking for a family committed to continuing his training, particularly around managing food guarding.
