About Lilo
If you saw Lilo during Fall and Winter of 2024, you might recognize her—she was once known as 'Feldspar,' a Brown Paws Rescue puppy adopted out at only 4 months old. Sadly, her life took a rough turn when she landed in a shelter as a stray after her owner couldn't keep her. Brown Paws scooped her up straight off her stray hold, determined that things would turn out differently for her this time. Now about 1.5 years old, Lilo is a unique and striking mix—part Australian Cattle Dog, Pharaoh Hound, and possibly Pit. After arriving underweight and in poor shape, she's been placed on medical hold so she can rest, recover, and finish her heat cycle before a scheduled spay surgery. Once she heals, she'll be ready for meet & greets and adoption events. A new name marks her fresh start. Her foster picked “Lilo,” inspired by the idea that family sticks together. Lilo—like many who have been let down but not broken—proves that's true. She’s easing back into life with other dogs, doing well around children, and previously lived with a cat (though current compatibility can be re-checked as needed). She’s learning crate and house training, working on leash skills, and is very food motivated. Vaccines and preventatives are up to date, and each day she grows more confident and affectionate. After a rocky past, Lilo is discovering safety and trust. Soon, she’ll be ready to join the family she truly deserves. Adoption is her next chapter—are you ready?
