Now that she’s in a safe environment, Monica is learning what freedom feels like. This sweet girl requires a very special adopter who understands her past. Patience and time are essential as she slowly warms up to the world. She’s discovering that trust and love can exist, but expect it to take time. Monica isn’t the type to settle in quickly, but for someone willing to support her journey, helping her heal will be incredibly rewarding. Monica is considered a flight risk, so a secure fence is necessary to keep her safe. She would thrive best as the only dog in a calm home, allowing her to decompress and build confidence without additional pressure. She is currently heartworm positive, but the rescue will cover all treatment costs. Though she may need more time and understanding than others, Monica deserves that from a caring owner. She is looking for the right person to see her beyond her fears and provide the love and stability she has always missed.
