About Niko

Niko is truly the best of both worlds—a lap dog who’s active outdoors. This lively 4-year-old Rat Terrier, with a charming tricolor coat of brown, black, and white, has a delightful personality that shines through. He enjoys car rides, is tolerant of baths, and cooperates well when it’s time for his harness. At home, Niko is low-maintenance and has perfect potty habits. He isn’t a picky eater, roams freely when alone, and loves to observe the world from his favorite window spot. As a self-appointed watchdog, Niko will alert you to any noises at the door, often with his quirky, soft woofs. His favorite pastimes include being nearby while you sit, alternating brisk walks with sniff-filled explorations, and even a daily run around the house hoping someone will chase him. At the dog park, he enjoys a quick zoomie, although he mostly likes to patrol and investigate new scents, dogs, and people. Niko gets along well with dogs of all sizes and respectful children aged 6 and older. However, he may feel the need to correct dogs who exhibit unbalanced energy or invade his space. Since he can be sensitive to busy environments, he would thrive in a detached home with a yard. This smart, affectionate cuddle bug is waiting for a loving home to call his own.
