Maeve is a vibrant 2-year-old female German Shorthaired Pointer who weighs 38 lbs. She and her sister, Ginny, came to the shelter after being surrendered due to landlord restrictions. Initially scared and untrained, Maeve has been thriving in her foster home, revealing her sweet and energetic nature. She is eager to learn and displays athleticism that hints at her potential in dog sports. Although she had little training when she arrived, she's picked up commands quickly, including sit, stay, and paw. Maeve is crate trained and mostly housebroken, although she still needs some guidance for leash manners as she tends to pull. Maeve interacts well with other dogs, having learned the importance of social cues through supervised introductions with her foster family’s senior dogs. While she has not been around cats, she can engage in playful activities like fetch, walks, and learning new skills. Ideally, she would do best in a home with older children—those above 6 years old—who can keep up with her energetic personality.
