About Onyx
Meet Onyx! This handsome boy is around 1 year old and weighs 45 pounds, boasting a beautiful, shiny black coat. We believe he’s a mix of Mountain Cur and Labrador Retriever, but his heart is what makes him truly special. Onyx is a bit shy and still figuring out that people can be kind. His past may have shaped some of his hesitations, particularly around men, but he warms up much more readily to females. He’ll thrive in a patient home that understands that trust takes time. Once he bonds with you, he’ll delight you with cuddles, often resting his head in your lap. He gets along remarkably well with other dogs and truly benefits from having a confident canine companion to learn from. In his foster home, he has flourished alongside his furry siblings. He adores cats too; he has even made friends with the cat in his foster family! Onyx is making good strides with house training and improving in his crate training. While he finds the leash intimidating, his foster family is working with him on this. A securely fenced yard is essential for his comfort as he adjusts. This sweet boy deserves a loving family that will help him discover how wonderful life can be. If you have a confident dog, a fenced yard, and plenty of patience and love, consider welcoming Onyx into your home. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
