Meet Brooks! This shy, gentle Shepherd mix is about 4 months old and still finding his footing in the world. While he thrives with other animals, big and small, he takes a little time to feel safe around people. Having a confident canine friend can really help him come out of his shell. Brooks is still getting used to affection; food is definitely the quickest way to his heart. He’s eager to learn trust, so he needs a patient family willing to give him time and space. Already, he's showing promise with potty training and sleeps through the night in his kennel without accidents. He also has a fondness for water. Brooks is currently in a socialization program at the women’s state prison, focusing on getting him comfortable with leash walking. To adopt him, it would be wonderful to have another friendly dog in the home to help him feel secure. He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a foster or foster to adopt situation. Just a quick note: until he’s fully vaccinated, any dogs in the foster home must be fully vaccinated, and he should avoid dog parks and busy public areas.
