Meet Marley! This beautiful girl was on the euthanasia list at a local Houston shelter, terrified of her surroundings. Luckily, an amazing foster family stepped in, bringing her to safety and giving her a chance to show her true self. Marley can be a little timid when she first meets new people, clearly showing signs of a tough past. She can flinch at sudden movements or loud noises. However, with a little patience, she transforms into an incredibly loyal companion. You’ll find her following you from room to room, curling up beside you, and resting her head on your leg. She loves being around her people and wants to be a part of everything. Potty trained and kennel trained, Marley walks well on a leash and rides nicely in a car. She gets along great with other dogs and has been gentle with kids, even spending a weekend with a four-year-old without showing any aggression. Because she’s nervous around loud sounds, a quieter home would be ideal. Here’s one of Marley’s quirks: she talks. A tiny howl for going outside, another for playtime, and yes, even to ask you about that strange noise. It’s absolutely adorable. At about 3-5 years old and 35 pounds, she’s medium energy—the perfect mix of an adventure buddy and a professional couch cuddle partner.
