Bennie is a charming 2-year-old dog with bright, expressive eyes that reflect his intelligence. He’s affectionate but also enjoys his independence, settling comfortably in his kennel without experiencing separation anxiety. After spending about two months in foster care, he revealed his calm and sweet nature at home, eager to connect with his people. Bennie has a playful side and loves interacting with toys. He responds well to gentle affection and enjoys being groomed and bathed outside. Although his energy spikes when he's in the shelter, this doesn’t define him. Whenever Bennie leaves his kennel—whether on outings, in the play yard, or while being fostered—he showcases a much calmer, more relaxed demeanor. He enjoys walks and is currently working on improving his leash manners. On his recent ‘Staycation,’ he demonstrated his easygoing nature, enjoying jogs and car rides with his fosters. During his time in foster care, Bennie was both potty and kennel trained and mastered several commands, including sit, leave it, and shake. He completed heartworm treatment as well.
