About Maru

Meet Maru. Born in April 2022, he was initially shy and needed time to build trust in people. After about six months, he transformed into the sweetest boy you could imagine. Maru adores the company of other cats. For a while, he tried to cuddle and play with his adopted sister, Mitsuki, but she was more interested in humans. He has found joy with his foster mom's resident cats, although his playful energy can sometimes overwhelm them. Maru would thrive with another friendly cat, preferably a boy who enjoys active play, or even a small to medium-sized, dog-friendly dog with energy. His favorite toy is a catnip-filled fuzzy mouse, and he eagerly anticipates mealtime. Strangely, he loves munching on romaine lettuce whenever he can. Maru enjoys lounging in sunny spots and snuggling under bed covers. One of his quirkiest habits is curling up into a ball, hiding his face under his paws while he sleeps. Though he dislikes being picked up, Maru is content to sit on your lap, especially when a blanket is involved. He loves cheek scratches and back pets, and enjoys being brushed, although he does tend to wiggle after a while. Instead of a usual meow, he emits the cutest little chirping sounds. Maru is litter box trained, using both standard and automatic boxes. He does scratch furniture, so multiple scratching posts and cardboard scratchers are essential in his space. He’s also clever enough to open cabinets and closets if curiosity strikes. This lovely boy would do best in a calm home with someone patient, allowing him to emerge at his own pace. Initially, he may hide and take time to trust new people, but when he does, he becomes a dedicated companion, greeting you at the door and curling up beside you.
