Meet Sailor, an adorable Dachshund around 3 years old and approximately 12 pounds. Her past was a bit tumultuous; although she had a loving home since puppyhood, changes in her family's life led to her return to Mostly Mutts. After a brief stay in a new adoptive home that didn’t fit, she’s back with her wonderful foster family. She’s slowly learning to navigate the world at her own pace, and though she can be shy and sensitive, she’s already showing improvement. Sailor is open to co-existing with small dogs but prefers a home where she can be the star of the show. She doesn’t handle children well, and her original family noted she can be too much for cats, so a cat-free home is best for her. She’s looking for a calm, patient family that can make her feel safe. While she enjoys toys, she prefers a peaceful environment. Currently, Sailor is working on her potty training and is still getting accustomed to life in a foster home, using potty pads and going outside as needed. She knows commands like sit and come and is crate trained. With time and patience, she hopes to blossom even more, gaining confidence along the way. Sailor will return the love you give her in spades, especially once she feels secure enough for belly rubs!
