Meet Dottie! Dottie's journey to us is quite special. She and her friend Olive were rescued from a dog-hoarding situation and brought to safety by Best Friends Animal Society in Utah. After that, they were transferred to LAWS from a high-volume animal shelter near Las Vegas and placed into loving foster homes where they could finally begin to experience the comfort, patience, and security they deserve. Now, Dottie is ready for the next chapter of her life in a forever home. Hi, I'm Dottie—a loving, low-key lady looking for my very own person to follow around and cuddle with while receiving unlimited belly rubs! I can sit pretty without even being asked; although, to be honest, I probably look more like a little gopher popping up to inspect the surroundings. Being a dog is nice, but I'm more of an indoor cat at heart. I’m a little older and treasure my beauty sleep. Sometimes, I need a gentle reminder to go outside because, let’s face it, getting out of bed can be tough when I have napping to do! I am house trained, though. I enjoy car rides, short walks, and discovering delicious pup cups! I’m still mastering leash walking, but I listen pretty well off-leash, although I can also get a little adventurous. Cats don’t bother me, and I prefer to let other dogs do their own thing. I'm not looking to be the life of the party and would thrive in a quiet home, ideally without young children, or one with older, calmer kids who can respect my space. I am frightened by thunder, fireworks, and loud voices, even when I’m not the focus. When I feel scared, I just need patience, reassurance, and a little space to feel secure. Food is one of my greatest joys, and I love meals and treats—especially when no one is watching! I occasionally cower at mealtime, having been in situations where I didn't know if the bowl really belonged to me. My dream is simple: a calm forever home where I can be a faithful companion, receive love and belly rubs, take plenty of naps, enjoy the occasional short walk, and look forward to a steady supply of snacks. If you need a sweet little shadow, professional napper, part-time gopher, and full-time treat inspector, I may just be the dog for you!
