Meet Flicka, a lovely female Border Collie mix, around 3 years old. After spending several months in the local dog pound, she has finally settled in. Flicka was spayed recently on July 28. However, her body reacted by displaying signs of a false pregnancy; she got attached to her toys, treating them like her babies. Thankfully, she is now turning the corner and is close to being ready for a forever home. Flicka walks beautifully on a leash and knows a few commands. While she may be shy when first meeting new people, she warms up quickly. Although we haven't yet tested her with small children, we plan to do so soon. Another quirky trait is her love for blankets—she really values them and can sometimes be seen suckling her blanket. Notably, Flicka is house trained and has never messed in her kennel.
