Louie is a charming 15-year-old dachshund/terrier mix weighing just over 17 lbs. With his long body, short legs, and that adorable grandpa face, he may be advancing in years, but Louie's youthful spirit shines through. His nose is sharper than most pups, and he's quite the sneaky one, known to hop onto tables for a snack. This affectionate guy enjoys walks, dashes around the yard, and above all, he relishes mealtime. While he tends to be friendly with other dogs, he can be a bit possessive over food, so it's best to feed him separately. Important to note, Louie is heartworm positive. He’s currently undergoing treatment and cannot cross state lines, so he must remain in Rhode Island. Although he has a grade 4 heart murmur, recent tests showed no need for medication at this time.
